He is serving his second term as a member of this strategic body.
Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), took part in the 52nd annual meeting of the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, held on Sunday, October 25, and Monday, October 26, 2026, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Hammouchi’s participation comes during his second term on this high-level scientific and academic body, alongside the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, the President of Naif Arab University, and a select group of senior officials from higher education institutions specializing in scientific and technical research.
The meeting was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud.
Convened annually, the Supreme Council serves as the university’s highest decision-making authority. It is responsible for establishing general education policies, setting strategic directions for training programs, and determining scientific research priorities in policing, security, law, and technology across the Arab world.
These responsibilities give the Council a central role in advancing higher education and specialized training for security institutions throughout Arab countries.
Hammouchi’s appointment to a second term on the Council underscores the standing of Moroccan expertise within regional bodies dedicated to strategic thinking and policymaking on security challenges.
His continued involvement also reflects the broader momentum of Arab security cooperation, which increasingly emphasizes leadership training, professional skills development, and the exchange of expertise among institutions.
Naif University, a Pillar of Scientific and Security Cooperation
A specialized institution of higher education, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences enjoys legal personality and diplomatic status.
It serves as the scientific arm of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, tasked with promoting research, education, and training across academic, policing, security, and technical disciplines.
Through its academic programs and scientific initiatives, the university contributes to strengthening professional capabilities and helping security institutions adapt to the evolving demands of their missions.
Against a backdrop of increasingly diverse threats and rapid technological change, specialized training and applied research have become essential drivers of security sector modernization.
The Supreme Council’s 52nd meeting therefore forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen scientific and academic cooperation among Arab countries and strengthen their collective security capabilities.
