The United Nations has praised the “generosity” of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, following the dispatch, upon the High Instructions of the Sovereign, of additional “significant” humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza.
“We welcome the generosity and the decision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to send important humanitarian aid for the population of Gaza,” said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, to MAP.
In this regard, he emphasized the positive impact of the aid ordered by the Sovereign, given the “catastrophic” conditions currently endured by the inhabitants of Gaza.
“The people of Gaza lack everything—food, medicine, shelter…,” deplored Mr. Dujarric, stressing the imperative for the international community to do “as much as possible” to improve the humanitarian situation of the Palestinians.
The spokesperson also called for pressure to be exerted “so that the parties accept an immediate ceasefire.”
The humanitarian aid ordered by HM the King consists of approximately 100 tons of foodstuffs and medicines, specifically intended for vulnerable groups, particularly children and infants.
His Majesty the King, President of the Al-Quds Committee, insisted that this humanitarian aid, like the previous ones, be transported by air and delivered urgently and directly to the beneficiaries among the Palestinian brothers.
