Moroccan Sahara: Malawi Reaffirms the Strength of Its Support

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Malawi, Eisenhower Nduwa Mkaka, reaffirmed on Tuesday in Rabat his country’s firm backing of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.

“Malawi firmly supports the Kingdom of Morocco regarding the Sahara issue,” declared Mr. Nduwa Mkaka.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, received Mr. Eisenhower Nduwa Mkaka on Tuesday in Rabat. He was carrying a message addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, from the President of the Republic of Malawi, H.E. Mr. Lazarus Chakwera.

During a press conference following the meeting, Mr. Nduwa Mkaka reiterated the Republic of Malawi’s steadfast support for the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its Sahara.

“Malawi supports with determination the Kingdom of Morocco on the Sahara issue,” he stressed.

In this regard, the special envoy of the President of the Republic of Malawi highlighted that his country’s position remains “unshakable” and that “no solution can be considered outside of respect for Morocco’s territorial integrity.”

He also stated that he conveyed a message of friendship to His Majesty King Mohammed VI from the President of the Republic, who extended to the Sovereign his sincere wishes for health, prosperity, and success.
