The pole comprising the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) has categorically denied that any intrusion has been recorded or occurred in its IT systems or security databases, which are subject to the highest cybersecurity standards.
In a statement, the DGSN-DGST pole said that “the personal data recently published did not, in any way, result from a cyber intrusion into security information systems. These are old data extracted from databases and IT systems managed by insurance companies and health and social coverage organizations.”
The statement also warned against “the repeated dissemination of fabricated photographs, misleadingly and maliciously presented as depicting female and male employees of various security services, as well as the circulation of altered or falsified documents purported to originate from the security services.”
The fraudulent and falsified nature of these images and documents is clearly apparent, the same source continued, particularly due to the use of official uniforms and military ranks that do not exist in Morocco and are not used within the National Security services. The leaked documents also contain incorrect visual identities and obvious linguistic errors.
The same source added that “while continuing to refute and debunk all false reports claiming that security data systems have been subjected to a cyber intrusion — systems which, moreover, are not connected to open internet networks — the DGSN-DGST pole stresses that security investigations and inquiries will continue under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, with a view to identifying and arresting all those involved in fabricating, producing and disseminating these false contents to the public.”
