Thank You, Your Majesty

There are moments in the life of a nation when it must pause—not to admire itself, but to acknowledge. To acknowledge what has been built with patience, vision, and steadfast resolve. To recognize that behind every great collective achievement lies a clear will, a steady hand, and an enlightened mind. That Morocco was able to welcome Africa in 2025 around an Africa Cup of Nations worthy of its history and ambitions is no accident. This success is the product of a lucid and deliberate vision, whose primary inspiration deserves to be clearly recognized: that of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Morocco belongs to that rare category of nations whose trajectory cannot be measured solely by events, but by the depth of the bond uniting State, people, and history. An ancient Kingdom, it has traversed centuries without losing itself, sustained by a monarchy that has made stability its foundation.

Under the reign of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this monarchy has asserted itself as a pillar of both stability and transformation, in a world marked by uncertainty, rupture, and constant realignment.

It is also under the personal impetus of the Sovereign that Morocco has renewed—deeply and sincerely—its African anchorage. Not out of circumstantial calculation, nor as a passing trend, but in fidelity to an affirmed identity. Since his accession to the Throne, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has patiently and consistently woven bonds—almost personal in nature—with the majority of countries across the continent. He has traveled Africa, listened to its leaders, understood its peoples, and devoted time—so precious a resource—to building relationships grounded in trust, respect, and solidarity.

This African vision has never been rhetorical. It has taken shape through concrete partnerships, structuring projects, and a free, confident voice. One recalls in particular the historic address delivered in Côte d’Ivoire, in which the Sovereign called upon Africans to take their destiny into their own hands, to believe in their own capacities, and to build prosperity by themselves and for themselves. That moment revealed the depth of a vision held by a monarch African at heart, convinced that Africa is neither a burden nor a problem to be managed, but a promise to be fulfilled.

It is within this royal coherence—patiently constructed over time—that the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Moroccan soil must be understood. More than a sporting competition, the event became a moment of continental communion. Morocco, a land of hospitality and peace, opened its doors to all of Africa, reminding us that sport, when guided by vision and soul, becomes a universal language and a political act in the noblest sense of the term.

At the heart of the opening ceremony, one image stood out with quiet strength and dignity: that of Crown Prince Moulay Al Hassan. Through his natural bearing, composure, and precision, he reflected the rigor of a demanding education—shaped by an attentive father and a statesman of great stature, for whom measure and responsibility are never abstract notions.

In the presence of Crown Prince Moulay Al Hassan could be discerned, in subtle outline, the constant attention His Majesty King Mohammed VI has devoted to the youth of the Kingdom.

Faithful to its roots, fully anchored in Africa, and guided by the clear and unwavering vision of a great King, Morocco continues its journey with serenity, balance, and confidence—conscious of its history, sovereign in its choices, and resolutely committed to the shared future of the African continent.
