Doha, 18 December 2025
Morocco’s contribution to the security framework of the Arab Cup football tournament in Doha was acknowledged with distinction by Qatari security authorities during the closing ceremony of the Arab Security Cooperation Center, held on the sidelines of the competition. On this occasion, the delegation representing the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) received high-level recognition for its professionalism, operational efficiency, and strategic engagement.
The ceremony underscored the Moroccan delegation’s pivotal role in the successful delivery of the tournament’s security arrangements, particularly through effective coordination and the real-time exchange of operational information relating to Moroccan supporters. This close cooperation played a decisive role in ensuring a secure, orderly, and welcoming environment, allowing matches involving the Moroccan national team to take place under optimal conditions of safety, public order, and sporting integrity.

Senior Qatari officials overseeing the Arab Security Cooperation Center praised the significant efforts undertaken by the DGSN to advance mechanisms of international security cooperation. They highlighted Morocco’s proactive approach to strengthening cross-border partnerships in policing and public security, with particular emphasis on the country’s growing leadership in the specialized field of sports and event security.
In preparation for the Arab Cup, the General Directorate of National Security deployed a specialized mission composed of highly experienced security professionals, possessing advanced expertise in sports security and the protection of major international football events. This delegation was fully integrated into the operational framework of the Arab Security Cooperation Center, whose mandate focused on intelligence sharing, real-time monitoring of crowd movements, and the anticipation and mitigation of potential security risks throughout the tournament.

This initiative forms part of a broader strategic vision pursued by Moroccan security authorities. In the context of preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, to be hosted by Morocco, the DGSN has established an African Security Cooperation Center. This structure brings together representatives of police forces from participating African nations alongside Moroccan security services, with a mission centered on coordinated data management, operational oversight, crowd-management strategies, and the collection and analysis of security-related intelligence linked to all aspects of this major continental sporting event.
