Morocco: A Millennial Consciousness

Morocco, strengthened by a heritage forged over thirteen centuries of history, draws its coherence, stability, and identity from the depth of its monarchy. This is not merely an institution: it is the living memory of the people, the backbone of the nation, the soul of its historical continuity. Inscribed in the deepest layers of the collective consciousness, the Moroccan monarchy has always known how to combine lucidity with long-term vision. Its decisions have been marked by pragmatism, guided not by convenience but by justice.

Our country has never succumbed to the vertigo of trials. In every storm, it has stood tall with dignity, resolute, united. And that is why Moroccans grant it unwavering support, especially with regard to questions of sovereignty. Because here, more than anywhere else, the monarchy is inseparable from the people. It does not float above them: it is their expression, their extension. The people are monarchy, the monarchy is the people.

To those who claim that the decisions of the State may diverge from the general interest, we respond that such a view is not only mistaken, but profoundly ignorant of the historical and political foundations of Morocco. Such a doctrine — insidious, perverse — denies the collective intelligence of a people who have always recognized the higher interest of the nation.

However, to affirm this does not mean denying the right to difference. Every free society must allow its thoughtful minorities to express themselves, to critique, to propose. Freedom of opinion is sacred. But it cannot be transformed into a tyranny of the minority over the majority. That would be a negation of the very democratic ideal. Democracy is not the imposition of a dissonant voice at the expense of the harmony of the whole. It is the balanced coexistence of voices, in mutual respect.

Unfortunately, these fundamental principles are today mistreated by selfish impulses, petty envies, and even useless and destructive hatreds. This noxious climate confuses reference points, wounds consciences, and fractures the most essential human bonds.

I detest speaking of myself, because I firmly believe in the freedom of others, even when it overflows. And yet I, my relatives, and those who share my convictions have been the target of attacks of unusual violence. For what fault? For daring to think freely, for expressing an opinion with sincerity and loyalty. Some would have preferred our silence. Others, our disappearance. But we are not the kind who surrender. Fear governs neither our ideas nor our actions.

We will continue on our path with rectitude, with calm, and with firmness. Because our faith in peace is unshakable. Not a peace withdrawn into ourselves, but a peace oriented toward others. A generous peace, built for our children, and for the children of their children. A peace sown with just words, sustained with respect, defended with the courage to remain profoundly human.

We believe in a Morocco with a future. A Morocco lucid, ambitious, serene. A Morocco that moves forward with confidence, that builds with boldness, and that transmits with pride. Moroccans have the wisdom and the clarity needed to choose, with conscience, what is best for themselves and for their country — guided by an enlightened monarchy, visionary, deeply rooted in history and decisively oriented toward the future.
